Jesus was called the ultimate counsellor, and yet when some Christians think of accessing counselling, they can think of it as a denial of their faith and trust in the counsellor, Jesus. This is why I was passionate about creating Faith In Me Therapy.
My name is Suzie Kennedy (MBACP). I hold a BA in Counselling and Theology and am currently studying for a Master’s in psychotherapy and therapeutic counselling. I know firsthand how Jesus can change and heal lives; as an experienced and registered BACP/ ACC/ NCPS integrative psychotherapist, I also believe therapy can help us strengthen our relationship with ourselves, which beneficially impacts our relationship with God. Our relationship with Therapy and God does not have to be in competition or conflict, which is why Faith in Me therapy was created. I offer clients a therapeutic space with a registered and experienced Christian therapist who understands the need for therapeutic compatibility with faith.
Therapy has allowed me to process and overcome significant personal life challenges, including abuse, cancer and trauma. The impact of life’s challenges can sometimes make our lives a struggle. We are made to be relational creatures, but sometimes, our relationships with others can struggle due to our conflicts and life circumstances, including our relationships with faith. Faith combined with Therapy has enabled me to achieve a healthier life balance. Therapy allowed me to explore behaviour patterns and situations that impacted my view of self and the world. Faith In Me Therapy utilises the integrative modality of therapy. This is tailored to each client’s needs. Integrative therapy combines Psychodynamic, CBT, and Humanistic modalities whilst embracing what it means to be a spiritual being.
Faith in Me Therapy offers a therapeutic space where clients can share their experiences and struggles in a nonjudgmental, confidential space. Clients have found this experience profoundly healing, offering hope and optimism. Until we can have a healthy relationship with ourselves, we can struggle with relationships with others.
The therapeutic relationship in Me Therapy offers is this chance to see ourselves as God intended us to be: uniquely made and valuable. Faith in Me Therapy can help clients regain their feelings of self-worth in a space where they can be themselves.
